Three Straight for the Sixers
The Sixers used some timely steals to seal their latest home win. Ben Simmons swiped three Indiana passes in the final 14 seconds to down the Pacers 119-116. It was part of a 15-point 13-assist night for Simmons. He also attempted (and missed) another three-pointer. However, Philly’s leading scorer was Joel Embiid.
Playing the second game of a back-to-back, Embiid had 32 points and 11 rebounds. That effort powered a third straight win, after a disappointing loss to Toronto. Since his scoreless effort against the Raptors, Embiid has averaged 30.7 points and 14.7 over the last three. Overall, the Sixers are now 9-0 at home, and host another talented (but tired) team tonight.
NBA Betting Preview – Jazz @ 76ers
Mon. 12/2 at 7:00 PM
The Utah Jazz come to Wells Fargo Center after a humbling loss in Toronto last night. They set a team record for a halftime deficit by trailing the Raptors 77-37. However, they eventually saved face by “only” losing 130-110. Jazz star Donovan Mitchell averages 24.9 points, but was held to only 16 points on 6-16 shooting. He was also a team-leading -24 in +/- over 31 minutes. Meanwhile, fellow star, Rudy Gobert finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds and a -21. It was Utah’s third loss in four games of a road trip that finishes tonight in Philadelphia.
This has been a rough road trip for the Jazz. They are on the second night of a back-to-back, against a rested Sixers squad. Utah coach Quin Snyder actually benched his starters midway through the fourth quarter in Toronto. However, I don’t think that extra rest will make up for poor court performance. I’m taking the Sixers to win as 5.5 point favorites tonight.
Where to bet this:
PointsBet has the best payout on the current spread, with -105 ($105 wins $100). Unibet PA, Unibet NJ, SugarHouse, and DraftKings all have payouts of -110. Meanwhile, Caesars has a -110 payout on Philly as -5 point favorites.
Top Player Props: Jazz vs. 76ers
After a poor shooting night up north, Donovan Mitchell figures to return to his usual 25-point range tonight. That’s why PointsBet has boosted the payout for Mitchell scoring 25+ from a payout of -115 to -105.
As for the Sixers, Joel Embiid will be facing a true defensive stopper in Rudy Gobert. That’s why Unibet is offering a +100 payout on Embiid scoring over 25.5 points. However, a better bet is likely Tobias Harris scoring over 17.5 points, with a payout of -122. Harris has surpassed 17 in 7 of his last 9 games.
NBA Betting Bonus Alert:
Simmons 3-Pt Mania — Simmons missed his three-point attempt against Indiana. But the fact that he put it up is big for bettors. PointsBet is offering a +100 payout on Simmons hitting over 10.5 threes this season.
