Meadowlands Moneymakers is a weekly series where I tell you my favorite betting plays on N.Y. Giants and N.Y. Jets games.

In this edition, we’re talking teaser and top props for two Week 7 home games at MetLife Stadium – Sunday’s Giants-Cardinals, and Monday’s Jets-Patriots.

Cardinals @ Giants

Sunday, 1:00 PM

One too many turnovers.

Despite missing Saquon Barkley, Evan Engram, and Sterling Shepard, New York QB Daniel Jones still had the Giants within striking distance of the New England Patriots midway through the fourth quarter of their Week 6 matchup. But what was a 21-14 deficit, finished as a 35-14 final score, thanks to a Giants fumble that Pats LB Kyle Van Noy picked up and returned 22 yards for a touchdown. Toss in a Tom Brady 1-yard TD run, and the Giants chances were done.

Blue Blue now returns home for a Week 7 tilt against fellow two-win team, the Arizona Cardinals. The good new this week is that reinforcements are on the way for Danny Dimes, with both Barkley and Engram practicing and on track to contribute in a very winnable game. It will be a good matchup of two of 2019’s best-performing rookie QBs, in Kyler Murray and Jones, and I think it will be Mr. Dimes’ time to shine.

Doubles Game Pick:

With both these squads near the very bottom in pass defense, I’m taking a PointsBet Doubles Market bet that reflects a Sunday shootout in East Rutherford. Let’s go with New York to win, and both teams combing for over 49 points.

Cardinals vs. Giants – Top Prop Bets

Now, let’s look at some tempting player props for Week 7’s Meadowlands home-and-home:

Top Prop #1 Daniel Jones will pass for 300+ yards

$100 to $230 (+230) @ PointsBet

As I said, both teams are downright terrible against the pass, with only the Tampa Bay Buccaneers worse. Also, Daniel Jones is set to get back his top Tight End and Running Back. The only time Danny Dimes has surpassed 300 yards this season was his coming-out game as starter against the Bucs, and I think he does it again on Sunday.

Top Prop #2 Golden Tate will get 100+ receiving yards

$100 to win $350 @ PointsBet

One of Daniel Jones’ top receiving targets is going to get 100 yards this week. But who? Sterling Shepard is still iffy coming off of a concussion. Evan Engram is returning from a knee injury. That leaves Golden Tate, who caught six passes for 102 yards against the Patriots last week. Expect him to surpass the century mark again against the Cardinals terrible pass defense.

Top Prop #3 Kyler Murray will pass for 300+ yards

$100 to win $210 (+210 at) @ PointsBet

Murray has feasted on bad pass defenses in his rookie year, will 300+ yard passing days against the Detroit Lions (308), Baltimore Ravens (349), and last week against the Atlanta Falcons (340). Week 7 gives him another weak pass D to eat up in the Meadowlands, and I think he will easily air out to the tune of 300+.

Patriots @ Jets

Monday, 8:15 PM

Sam Darnold saves the day!

One week after Luke Falk’s adorable attempt at pretending to be a starting NFL quarterback ended in New York taking a 31-6 blowout loss to Philadelphia, Sam Darnold and his spleen returned to the field for a 24-22 Jets upset win over a suddenly-struggling Dallas squad.

Darnold passed for 338 yards and two touchdowns, spreading the love to safety blanket WR Jamison Crowder for 98 yards on six catches, and speedster Robby Anderson for 125 yards on five catches – including a 92 yard (!) touchdown.

Le’Veon Bell picked up the slack with 50 rushing yards and a 2-yard TD to open the scoring. Even better than New York’s first win of the season? A third straight Cowboys loss, giving Stephen A. Smith an excuse to wear a cowboy hat and act the fool on morning television.

The Jets better enjoy this win while they can, because their next game is a Monday night matchup against the NFL’s only 6-0 squad: the New England Patriots. With their Week 6 victory over rookie Daniel Jones, the Pats have now won an NFL record 19 straight games over 1st and 2nd year quarterbacks, with sophomore Sam Darnold next to fall.

Teaser pick:

Hell, Sam or no Sam, with the talent disparity between these two teams, I think the Pats will stretch their win streak to seven, and score big in the process. I’ll take a 6.5-point teaser on New England winning by at least 3.5 (at -110 from PointsBet), and both teams to combine for over 36 points.

Patriots vs. Jets – Top Prop Bets

Top Prop #4 New England will score 35+ points

$100 to win $360 (+360) @ PointsBet

With the exception of a Week 4 road game against a tough Buffalo Bills defense, Tom Brady has led his offense to past 30 points every damn week. After putting up 35 against the Giants last week, and 30 against the Jets back in Week 3, expect Brady to keep New England’s scoring train on track with a 35+ point showing in week 7.

Top Prop #5 Julian Edelman will get 100+ receiving yards

$100 to win $121 (+121) @ PointsBet

New England’s defense is absolutely dominating their opponents in 2019 (1st in points allowed, 2nd against the pass, 3rd against the rush), making Jets player props a risky business in Week 7. Patriots player props, however, are a better bet – especially with WR Julian Edelman facing the 21st-ranked Jets pass defense.

After failing to find 100 receiving yards his first four games, Edelman has surpassed 110 yards two straight weeks. Against the giants he has 113 on 9 catches from 15 targets. With Brady paying that kind of attention to his favorite receiver (449 yards on the season), except another 100-yard game on Monday night.
